Hey, I’m Jake.
I’m a wedding photographer based in Asheville, NC. I love capturing raw, genuine emotion surrounded by the epic natural beauty of the mountains of WNC. That’s just the tip of the iceberg though, there’s lots more to learn about me.
I began doing photography as a way to create landscape images. I love the outdoors, and the feeling of being in nature is one that is grounding to me. I remember the moment I fell in love with photography: I hiked (well, tried to hahaha) the Craggy Gardens trail near Asheville. I remember the fog rolled in over the Blue Ridge Mountain as thick as I’ve ever seen. The brights on my car needed to be a few levels brighter that morning. I remember hiking what ended up being the wrong trail all alone. Not a single car around or person on the trail. I got to a point in a clearing where I found the image I wanted to take which was of a single bench beside a lonely tree. The fog added a level of mystery to each detail in the shot. The moment came when I snapped the shot and immediately heard the birds wake up. The sweet little chirps are a sound I will never forget because on that day I heard the birds before everyone else. I found myself feeling the urge to repeat this again and again and again. The moment was one of pure connection to the world that surrounded my small life. I have connected this moment and love for nature, with my love for those who are in love. Being in nature for one of the world’s most natural feelings is truly fulfilling.
As a wedding photographer, I carry this love of nature with me in all my sessions. Whether it’s an elopement in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a surprise proposal at the Biltmore Estate, or an intimate wedding at a local gorgeous Asheville wedding venue. Nature is the perfect backdrop to your love story.

Let me get the group together for a fun (but also brutally honest) portrait of how sloshed all of them are! Stressed about your ceremony being in less than an hour? I will be right there to ask if you need more water while urging everyone to GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER, respectfully of course. The point is that I am here to capture your day. I will make sure this is done in a proper manner that does not disrupt the natural flow of your special day.
